Ethics and Issues 5-2

In the new technical world today we have to be read for new technology.  I would not mind constant monitoring by facial recognition systems because I have nothing to hide.  I'm sure that some people would think that it is an invasion of privacy.  I think that all depends though if you have something to hide.
Now, I do not think that everyone in the criminal data base should have to be recognized, in less they need to be located for some lawful reason.  For instance, if you have more than one felony, I think you should be located and recognized.  My reasoning for thinking that is because more than one felony is more than just a slap on the wrist, and obviously the first time you got into trouble you did not care.
If I was improperly detained due to a mistake by the facial recognition system I would be upset.  But there are plenty of technical devices that make mistakes everyday in our world.  Technical devices will never be perfect.  So, the chances of the facial recognition system making a mistake are slim to none.  But just as long as the problem was fixed while they were detaining me under false pretenses, I would just have to get over it.  This is life and mistakes will constantly be made.

Digital Downtime

I selected the trend digital downtime due to the high velocity of people that use technology 24/7.  Everywhere I look people use computers, phones, I-pods, and other technical devices.  People need a break from this fast life in technology.
I think that this trend will be most popular in 2011 because people need a break from technology.  It is only a matter of time before people realize that technology is taking over their lives.  In 2011 people might not be fully aware that technology is taking over their lives, but as time goes on they will realize this.

Cencership: Should certain material be restricted to select groups, or banned entirely from the Internet?

I chose this question for many reasons.  There are plenty of personal and private information that anyone that is computer friendly can access easily. I agree that certain material should be restricted.  For
instance, certain websites that can tell your criminal background.  I think that is a violation to your privacy.  I think that it is appropriate if you need a background check for a job, but not just anyone should be able to access your record at anytime.  People tend to judge others for what they have done in the past, but the truth is everyone makes mistakes.  I,have also heard about these websites where you can find out about anyone for a membership fee.  With these different websites you can find out telephone numbers, addresses, and even birthdays.  Even if someone pays a membership fee all of those things are private information that should be restricted.  In my opinion if I want someone to really know where I'am at, I will be more that willing to be available.  And you wont even have to pay a membship fee.

"What I hope to get out of CSI 112 this semester'.

What I hope to learn from CSI 112 this semester is the knowledge of computers and computing.  I'am 25 years old and feel like I know nothing.  I would first like to know the basics of computing and the fundamentals of the internet.  I have a four year old daughter who is in preschool and is already in a computer class.  I realize further knowledge of computers is what I need to help me in this technical world today.
